What it is
GHRP-2 is a synthetic growth hormone-releasing peptide. It works on the ghrelin receptor to trigger a strong release of growth hormone from the pituitary.
It also tends to raise appetite and can increase cortisol and prolactin, hormones involved in stress and milk production.
US regulatory status
Not FDA-approved. The FDA lists GHRP-2 among bulk substances that may present significant safety risks in compounding (Category 2). It has been approved in Japan only as a diagnostic test agent.
What the research shows
Human studies have mainly used GHRP-2 as a test to check pituitary function. There are no solid trials showing long-term benefits for muscle, fat loss or recovery in healthy people.

- Are there FDA-approved treatments for my goal that have stronger evidence?
- What are the risks of products labeled "research use only," and how would I know what is really in them?
